    Hi Anthony,
I have just finished The Emperors Knives another great read which follows in the footsteps of all the Empire series of which I am proud to own.

What happens to our hero now that he has avenged his family? Is the to be a book 8?

    Kind regards
    Ray

  4. Tvrandy says:

    Well done Anthony.
Another good story based on Marcus’s revenge in Rome. I enjoyed the supporting detail regarding the gladiators too. I now look forward to book eight. Keep them coming, I have them all.

  5. Alessandro says:

Hi Anthony! i’m a your italian fan, so i don’t speak (and write) english very well.

i love your books, i’ve just read the first two and i’m waiting for the others, because in Italy there aren’t.
I think that you’re a fantastic writer, in fact when i read about Marco Valerio i think to be him, i fell the same emotions of him but most important i can’t stop reading! for this reason i hope that the others books are going to be published also in Italy, or i have to buy them write in english!
i’m also very happy because i’ve just know that you’re going to write 25 books, so don’t stop you!

hoping that i will able to read again about Marco,

    all the best,

Alessandro (still sorry for my bad english and for syntax)

    1. Anthony Riches says:

Hey Alessandro, my apologies for taking so long to reply. And thanks for the kind comments! At the moment I’ve only sold the first two books to Italy – fingers crossed that more books in the series will be picked up soon!

And your English is pretty good!

      All the best to you,

      Tony.

I have recently finished reading The Eagles Vengeance and have had an enormous amount of enjoyment reading your 6 books. All bought in hardcovr. Great characters and fantastic storys. I should comment that i was anxious as hell when Marcus and Rutilius Scaurus were sneaking in to see Commodus. Fantastic stuff!! I look forward to #7 and Two Knives continued quest.
I am curious to know when would be your next walk along Hadrians Wall and if it is open for others to join?

    1. Anthony Riches says:

Hi Mario, and thanks for the kind comments. And hey, you were nervous? I had no idea what was going to happen!

Next walk is the end of May and there’ll be a ‘public day’ open to all, which will encompass Housesteads (The Hill). Watch this space!

      Best regards,

      Tony.

    Anthony
have all your brilliant books–not pdf et al either–
however ..why are your published books not on Audio Cd ?

question; any chance you writing about Cannae ? (Romes Greatest Defeat)

    mike

    1. Anthony Riches says:

      Hi Mike,

You can get all of the Empire series on audiobook mp3 – and some of the earlier books were indeed sold on CD. I don’t think that the industry bothers with had audio copies any longer though, as it’s so much quicker and easier to download. Have a look here… http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anthony-Riches/e/B0037LSR7C/ref=la_B0037LSR7C_rf_p_n_binding_browse-b_2?rh=n%3A266239%2Cp_82%3AB0037LSR7C%2Cp_n_binding_browse-bin%3A308724031&bbn=266239&ie=UTF8&qid=1387020544&rnid=492562011

And Cannae? Not any time soon – my boys are firmly rooted in the late 2nd century. But you never know…

All the best, and thanks for your kind comments (and for not downloading the pdfs!)

      Tony.

  8. Adam says:

    Hi Anthony,

I know I post alot on your comments, but I am quite a fan of the Empire series and am looking forward to the seventh book. But this post is actually about a more serious note, I am wondering if I would be able to get a signed book from you saying Congrats Adam and Sarah on your recent engagement signed Anthony Riches. I know this may be a huge and possibly inappropriate post but I have recently gotten my girlfriend into your series and wish to surprise her with this. You may email me with a response at adamlyle52@gmail.com again this would be greatly appreciated, looking forward to your response

    1. Anthony Riches says:

      Hi Adam,

      Email sent!

      Tony.

  9. Adam says:

    Hey Mr.Riches,

I have just finished reading The Eagle’s Vengeance and all I have to say is wow. I have not been a big reader but ever since starting this series I can’t think of much else. I am very interested in the Roman ways and basically how the ancient world worked. I must say that you are my favorite author.
I have also found a small grammar error in the book, I am not trying to be rude or anything just thought I would let you know. Its on page 333, 2nd paragraph. when Cleander says ” My only serious rival dying with a spear though( is missing the R) his guts…

I also just want to say that I cannot wait for more books to follow this one, it has actually inspired me to build a Roman shield and Gladius.

    Thanks for the inspiration,

    Adam

    1. Anthony Riches says:

      Hi Adam,

Thanks for the kind comments, and good spot with the error, I’ll point it out to Hodder! When you’re doing with the shield and gladius send me pics, and I’ll post them in my blog if you like?

      All the best,

      Tony.

  10. Tvrandy says:

Hello Anthony. Well done on a great sixth book. I have bought and read them all. Can’t wait to see how the story in Rome develops. I had assumed that the Fang was the rock that Stirling Catle sits on. I have climbed Dumyat so I can see why that was chosen. Keep them coming. Andy

    1. Anthony Riches says:

Hi Andy! The story in Rome is going to be a little different to the previous stories…hope you enjoy it. And the Fang would have worked just as well on Castle Hill, I guess, but I saw the Dumyat and knew I had to use it!

      All the best,

      Tony.
